Didn't see a thread for this phone. Might not be a ton of interest since the 5G service won't be widely rolled out until next year.

But this phone has my interest. I will probably sell my S10+ and get this phone for the size and specs alone :)

Wait, the version has four rear cameras? What's the fourth camera for?

To be honest, I don't see any reason anyone would buy this phone unless they have money burning a hole in their pocket. It's not considerably better than the S10 plus and 5G is a gimmick and will continue to be one probably until 2021. By then everyone will be on board so Samsung won't be able to charge a premium because it'll be standard tech by that time.

For the next year, at least, it'll basically be a bigger S10+. And what's even stranger is the Note 10 is rumored to be the same size.

I see your point about the 5G servcie...it won't be rolled out until next year. I agree with you.
But at the same time all rumors point tot he Note 10 being the exact same size and with 5G modem included.
The S10 5G is a preview of what the Note 10 will be in September. Probably the same price point as well.

My understanding is the 4th camera does some sort of 3D depth sensing.

Yup, it's a time of flight camera/sensor.

The 5G component is included purely so Samsung can say they were the first, as there will be next to zero available 5G network to use it on. That being said, the huge display, increased battery size and that ToF sensor are nice additions. Depending on the price (wasn't announced, was it?), if I was considering a Galaxy phone, these elements alone would likely put this one at the top of my list.

Based on most current forecasts, 5G won't be viable for quite a while--studies seem to peg it somewhere between 30-50% usage, by 2025.

Unless you live smack in the middle of the most concentrated 5G areas in couple years, I wouldn't worry about whether your phone has a 5G modem for a while. But I'll gladly take the extra battery capacity those phones purportedly are going to need.

Agreed...unless you are in one of the concentrated markets...5G servcie is not useful right now :)

Personally I just like the size and specs of the the S10 5G myself. All the rumors I have geard peg the Note 10 to be the same size and with the 5G modem as well.

Right now the buzzword in the mobile space is 5G......we will continue to see everyone clamoring for bragging rights to be first in the space...even though it is meaningless right now :)

I think PhoneArena are faking the image of the 5G in this screenshot, the images glitch out in a weird way when I add it alongside the 10+... But still, looking at this I can only think...the Note 10 is going to be GORGEOUS.

It appears the 5G version has an ever-so-slightly thicker bottom bezel vs the S10+. Curious as to why that would be necessary. It does have a better positioned power button however.

I've owned several Notes in the past because they had noticeable spec bumps and hardware advantages over the Plus models. But honestly, what can they don't make it stand out this year short of the rumors of them putting the front cam into the spen (which I highly doubt).

The screen will be a bit bigger and so will the battery...and it will of course have the spen. But other than that, more RAM? Another camera? Are these really value adds or enough to justify the price bump you know is coming with the Note? I just don't see how it's noticeably better than the Plus model this year.

For me the bigger display + the pen makes it definitely more desirable than the 10+. I'll take every millimeter of extra OLED display size I can get, and the note taking with the S Pen is such a killer feature on a phone this size. The 10+ looks awesome of course, but the Note 10 has that little bit extra which makes me wait a few months longer.

I honestly don't see the need for this phone yet, though my area will be one of the first with 5G. But from what I understand, it will only be a very small area of my city first, so they can claim it, and probably won't be built out meaningfully for a couple of years. Still want it though, but since it will probably be the same as the Note 10, may wait for that.

It’s a bit too big and heavy for me to take it on without the s pen as an incentive. I think I’d feel differently if my right wrist weren’t busted up with some kind of repetitive stress “thingy” going on. I never used to care what phones weighed and now all of a sudden I want them as light as possible. This is a fairly recent development for me.

I am very interested the cameras.

I don’t think there’s any hope of me getting 5G. I have trouble getting 4G LTE.

Wait a flipping minute, I just realized that huge phone is only 4 grams heavier than my iPhone XR!!!!!

With my case on they’re about the same.

But it’s got a massive battery and a high res display while I have only 326 dpi.

Yikes. When you look at the two and then look back at the XR, I am struck by how weird a concept the Xr actually is. o_O

What's nuts to me is the xr marketed as budget or lower cost at 128GB is the same price as the S10
