Indeed. Samsung is a hardware component company through and through in its mind. Their strategy works well for things like computer chips and TVs, but they struggle when they have to deal with software.
They declared they are hiring a massive amount of programmers and many of the country's brightest graduates will undoubtedly join the company, but it remains to be seen if they can really do some market innovation on their own.
