Anyone have one of these? I haven’t tried the Samsung software on Mojave yet, but the Mojave drivers fail when trying to scan.

Is anyone else using one of these?

That family of multi office printers was a pain to set up in Sierra, High Sierra and I think Mojave too. They were acquired by HP so the WIFI set up software is there now.

As far as I remember the scanning won't work with Image Capture but is flawless with Vuescan.

Worked great in both Sierra and High Sierra with the Samsung software. I just thought that maybe the Mojave native stuff might work.

Not sure why they removed the "BETA" label from this to be honest.

I'm having the same problem with my office printer and MacBook on update to Mojave 10.14.1.

My Samsung M2070FW will not scan to any useable file in any format (scan preview still works fine). The driver update file link on the (extremely unhelpful) HP site downloads a .exe driver file only useable in Windows, even when specifying Mac OS in the preferences in the driver search. Of course tech support will not help because we're out of warranty and must pay to extend it (for 14 days only!) before they're "permitted" to give us any assistance.

Mine started working.

I tried tech support and they were pretty useless. But I did find the MacOS version of the driver. The website is a terrible design. HP suggested I install the 10.13 software. In the end I didn't go to the lengths of installing the driver. I was going to, but somehow it just started working. I'm still running 14.0 and it wasn't working, then I tried to scan and it started working.

I wish I knew of some rationale that I could throw your way.

I would consider trying to install the 10.13 driver and see what happens. Hopefully this link works for you

If not, where it says CHANGE on the right hand side, click that, then change to 10.13 and try that. But again, somehow mine just started working. I should try it again I suppose and see if it still does.

My original issue was that it would print, and do the scan preview, but a full scan would crap out.

Yeah, this is the same firmware file I've been trying to download that keeps reminding me Windows files can't be opened by Macs. Am I downloading the wrong thing? I've only been a Mac user for about a year and a half and I confess I'm still easily confused.

EDIT: Derp. Found the actual driver files. This IS a terrible website design. Classic HP...

If you change it to 10.13 you should see more options

[doublepost=1542323313][/doublepost]But again, I didn't end up taking that route. I didn't install the 10.13 software, but it was going to be my next attempt.

Welp, scanner software updated...and nothing. Same problem. Scan to PDF, you get a file that can't be opened. Scan to JPEG, TIFF, etc, it won't complete. "Scanner encountered an error."

That's strange that it's a different error to mine. I'm going to try it again and grab some screenshots. Will update in a sec.

Previously it would get to the preview page but then when I clicked the Scan button it would fail.

I get the full preview scan. When I ask it to scan in PDF it looks like it completes, but when you go to open the finished file on the desktop it can't be opened: "The file [name] could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize."

Ask it to scan in any other format, the scanner will move over it like all is well, and just as it should be completing I get the popup window "The scanner encountered an error."

Sorry, I wish I could help more. Mine just started working for some reason.

I would try the 10.13 software if you can.
Try this link maybe:
Mac_EPM_V1.03.37.dmg.gz

That's the 10.13 printer manager from the HP website. I would backup first before installing, just in case...

I wonder if/when they'll update to include 10.14 drivers. That seems like the only thing that's going to prevent me from having to expense a new printer.

10.14.1 is out. I'm guessing you're running that already. It's possible Apple will fix their driver.

can anyone use the front and back option to print a document? i have "not active" in my printer option :( MacOs 10.14-6
