Drivers for most Samsung ML printers

Hey i have tried the Generic GDI printer drivers in Print & Fax and the printers seem to respond to that quickly.
I've tried this on the Samsung ML-1610 and Samsung ML-1710. You might have to download Ghostscript and Footmatic then choose Generic GDL drivers..

Snow Leopard and the Samsung ML-1710

Samsung says there is no driver for this printer and the Mac OS. Wrong.
Samsung SPL2 Installer.zip
This works. Just Get Info on the top folder, append .app to the folder, open the application and it works perfectly. Samsung should be ashamed of themselves for not supporting this fine old printer

"Samsung SPL2 Installer" doesn't work

When I try to run the Samsung SPL2 Installer, I get the following message (translated to English): "You cannot open the program Samsung SPL2 Installer because the Classic environment is no longer supported."

Can anyone please tell me how I can fix this or install the printer driver for ML1710 in another way??

Same problem -

my Macbook Pro OS X 10.6.4 and it tells me that this computer does not support the classic environment. I love my ML-1710 printer - have had it for years and it has a lot of life left - any ideas on the latest print driver for my situation?

You are on page 2 of this thread. Look at the top-right of these posts and go to page 1. You will find a link to the driver. Be sure to follow the directions about changing the name to .app.

Hi the "Samsung SPL2 Installer" driver that worked on SL, no longer works with Lion. Its a Power PC application. I don't think there are any intel based driver program for OSX. Anyone know a workaround to install the driver files? When I right click on the file, it allows me to see contents. Please advice. thanks.

That will be why I can't print from my MBP since I upgraded to Lion OS X
