Hello there

I have some trouble connecting my monitor (Samsung S27A550H) to my MacBook Pro 7,1, 13" (NVIDIA GeForce 320M). I do have a HDMI to mini displayport cable.

But when I connect them, the quality of the monitor is not HD, it is blurred.

Could it be that my 13" cannot send an HDMI signal?
Or is the NVIDIA GeForce 320M not good enough?

Are you running at the native resolution? Go to System Preferences > Display and pick the highest (1920x1080) for your monitor.

The Notebook's LCD is on 1280 x 800, the monitor's highest is 1600 x 900 or 1080i or 1080p. But whichever I choose, it is blurred.
So maybe, as jav suggested, I got the wrong cable?

I had this problem with a LG monitor before, then I found out you have to let the monitor "know" you r using it with a computer (for me i have to set the input with a label and i set it to computer) , then everything will be normal. Don't know if this helps but it solved my problem

Ha! In preferences -> display there was 'synchron monitor' aktivated. Now it is working fine. :)
