Yes any sensitive pics would go in the secure folder. On my iPhone sensitive pics are stored in the notes app and locked. They are not in the gallery.

I use Google messages on my Note 8, chiefly because Android Wear only responds to that SMS client. Thankfully the stock SMS app is disabled.
