Well, all I care is that Samsung priced its premium phones at a reasonable profit margin unlike apple.

So the iphone is selling androids? Bwahahaha.

Samsung is one of Apple's biggest suppliers, so if Apple is making a product that would likely sell very well it would obviously mean more revenue for Samsung as well. Remember Samsung mobile is only a part of the much larger Samsung conglomerate, and in some years in the past Samsung actually made more money selling parts to Apple than they did selling their own phones.

The iPhone 7 has a curved glass panel. Not the same thing.

Isn't the iphone display flat with curved edges?

I used to think that, not so sure looking at the current crop of phones.
iPhone 7+ 32GB $1269/ 128GB $1419 AUD
Samsung S8+ 64GB $1349 AUD

Both ridiculous prices for a phone

Did a quick check on the retail price unlocked from a popular retail store where I am from:

s8+ 64gb US$690
iphone 7+ 128GB US$840
iphone 7+ 32gb US$740

Don't you think its sad charging $840 for a phone? and $969 for the 256GB model? Almost the same as the macbook air $999 USD

Samsung sells a lot of phones and other stuff, do you have proof that the iphone is spurring the growth?

Think outside your box. There is a big world out there and in countries like mine samsung phones are everywhere and iphones very rare. The us is not by any means the whole world. The exploding note hurt them in some places, they are rebounding.

Just did a check where I live. A 7+ 128 is 1144.00. In most places outside the us they are ridiculously high. Apple has a 6% market share here on all apple stuff.

yes, but they are much higher here (see in post above). My 6s plus is my last iphone. I am milking my 2012 mac as long as I can since they have priced me out of the mac market.

Wrong. Read the source article from Reuters. It's Samsung Electronics Ltd , not Samsung Group. So its the electronics company only.

Iys official, this makes Samsung the most profitable tech company in the world. That's gotta hurt the fans here as many here stated that profit is the most important aspect for a company.

Misunderstood what I said. I mean they will group all divisions to the overall Samsung Profit... not this announcement.

I never owned apple or invested in funds that had apple. Apple is more or less a place to park money for a period because values are stable most of the time. I would not buy apple at it's present price. If it gets down a to about 2/3 of what it is I might think about it. Otherwise just for fan boys NOT ME. Speculation on apple is not for me or my advisor for that matter.
