Too bad that pricing wasn't "immediately available," but I'm interested in the use of these now. These drives are now getting big enough to really consider. Now we just gotta wait for prices to drop. If one of these would keep the spinning beach ball from appearing a lot, that might be a fun birthday present.

It has always been a roller coaster. It get released and surges high, then after a while it cools down a bit.

Yes, it will be super expensive... but prices on this stuff usually fall pretty rapidly. The good part is this is now sized large enough that it can replace a traditional drive without any big tradeoff in size. To me, I don't anticipate ever really needing a laptop drive bigger than this. Give it a year and then these will start really hitting mainstream I think. "Eventually", solid state drives are going to have to get cheaper than drives with mechanical components.
