Thought I would start a thread now that rumours and leaks are starting to be made about the S25 and S25 Ultra phones. Is it me or does it seem to be getting earlier every year. Anyway let's talk S25/ S25 Ultra.......

What does everyone think about the rumoured new design? it certainly seems to have more rounded edges than previous Ultra models. Are you looking for more of a redesign or would you be happy with what has leaked so far? (lets not forget these are only leaks and nothing is official until Samsung announces it on stage, probably in January/February)

May as well be a lifetime in tech world
This is very true, however leaks start very early. Pixel 9 leaks started not long after the 8 came out if I'm not mistaken. Sometimes I wonder if it's the companies doing it on purpose to gage reactions.

I'd like to think as I'm happy with the s24 ultra, that i may skip the s25 ultra but I'm kidding nobody.

Samsung usually offer decent trade in prices for previous generation and pre order deals just make it even sweeter

Lets see if they fix the motion blur / pictures of moving objects.
I'm hoping they will upgrade the camera, to be honest I'm hoping they do more of an upgrade with the S25 Ultra, than Apple did with the iPhone 16 series.

Just a new ultrawide per the rumors. "we'll once again see the ISOCELL HP2 200 MP main camera (which will be made on a newer process, but the model itself is unchanged), the same 10 MP 3x zoom camera using Sony's IMX754 sensor, and the same 50 MP 5x zoom camera using Sony's IMX854."

Little underwhelming, at least Samsung have the 200 MP camera, I find that camera on my S24 Ultra to be great for certain pictures.

Cue reddit being disapointed with the lack of camera update to fix it for the first 2/3rds of next year 🙃

I wonder what pre-order offers Samsung will be doing for the S25 series
This is one of 2 major factors that'll sway me in 3 directions:

value of my S23 256GB phone for the S25.
how much RAM will the S25 will get (and how much storage is possible; hoping for 512GB for Canada - non-web only purchase),
Should the S25 still remain at 8GB RAM/256GB Storage max - then the S24 Ultra may be THE phone for me.

The renders of the rounded corners, and more so the UI being futured in OnLeaks above looks very appealing but I still prefer the sharper edges.

If S25 Ultra is a bit smaller, has SD4 processor and Samsung offers a killer trade-in on my S24+, I might be tempted.

If not, I'll probably hang on to what I have until Pixel 11 (2nd gen TSMC) and bake-off against whatever Samsung has in the pipeline then.

Sounds like the improvements will all be about the design. Basically no camera improvements
At this point I dont think it matters what they do, they will be doing more than Apple. For the first time EVER I haven't ordered to wanted to order anything from their September event. I was gobsmacked at how bad that event was, it's like they couldn't even be bothered. Not Watch Ultra 3, AirPods Max update was a joke and the iPhone 16 Pro range was barely an update from my 15 Pro Max.

As long as Samsung update the design in the S25 range, maybe upgrade the camera and just give more than Apple did. Even Googles event was better than Apple's September (at least in my opinion), the Pixel Watch 3 got a bigger size, the Pixel 9 range got a redesign.

That's the thing I don't think Samsung have Been doing more than apple. They seem to think they are apple and can get away with basically no upgrades year on year. Apple don't have any competition as they are the only ones running iOS. Samsung have tons of android rivals across the world so they should be trying to do more.

16 pros certainly don't seem much on paper but least they are adding bigger batteries, better better charging speeds and the camera button does seem useful at least. An area where Samsung haven't improved since maybe 4 years ago.

Pixel 9 pros have been a big jump this year even if it doesn't seem that way on paper. Time will tell if the new iPhones are the same

I want Samsung to be great again but sadly I can't see myself buying another ultra as devices like pixel, Vivo and even one plus are better devices overall in each area of what I want a phone to do

Huh? What? I mean Samsung has been doing more with their smartphone line up for years than Apple.
Does the iphone has DEX? Does the iPhone have an S-Pen or even support pencil or pen features?
Don't forget the camera AI features that the S24 Ultra has had since February. Then the iPhone AI features won't be fully available until 2025. Dude...Samsung and Android as a whole has been killing it with new features! While Apple trickles out crumbs...
I mean it is ok to not like Samsung. Everyone has their preferences. But to compare the S25 that is still almost 6 months from being released to anything that is released is not fair.

Then lets talk FOLDABLES

I agree to a certain degree, but at least Samsung have come out with a Ring, they are doing something. Apple has always been the best when it comes to having a great OS and products that “just work“ and while i do still love my iPhone 15 Pro Max, i saw nothing to make me upgrade, in fact i saw nothing to make anyone upgrade from a 14 Pro or Pro Max.

At least with Samsung we get some incentives, pre-order deals, bonuses, decent trade in prices. If the S25 Ultra is the same as the S24 Ultra I for one will not be upgrading, instead ill put the money i would of used aside until either the iPhone 17, S26 or even try (again) a Pixel with the Pixel 10 range. From the leaks so far, Samsung do look to be making changes to the design at least.

As far as foldable are concerned, I’m still a little worried about their durability after all you are folding glass. I think what The Game 161 is trying to say (correct me if I’m wrong) is that Samsung haven’t innovated very much the last couple of years, at least when it comes to the phone range. Even in other areas, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is a copy of the Apple Watch Ultra, i mean they even copied the name. The Buds 3 range also look to be copies!! What i do think they have done different tho is the Galaxy Ring.

Samsung use to make and release crazy deigns and be a lot more bold than they are currently. I just hope the S25 range pushes the Galaxy S models forward, rather than just a small step forward. I was genuinely disappointed with the Apple event, I’m hoping i wont be saying the same about Samsung's Galaxy event in January/February.

I'm talking about the past 3 or 4 years. Samsung has been releasing nothing upgrades with oudated sensors, no change to battery size, same battery speeds.

Samsung have simply stopped caring what improving their products.

Apple are Apple they will always be slow in adding features. They have at least added more in recent years from hardware features to better software features

Samsung are still trying to figure out how to get animations right after how many years.

Samsung have run out of ideas so much they have tried to make air pods pro and Apple watch ultra clones. That says it all where Samsung are in their mindset. Hense why there is unrest in Samsung headquarters about why they copied the design

And look what's set for 2025? New design with same outdated sensors yet again and trying to be thinner and lighter

Meanwhile Chinese brands the Android phones which are actually innovating bringing out 6,000 mah batteries and even bigger sensors

When it comes to foldables? Samsung created the damn things and now they have stopped caring about them as well as others have come in and are simply making better foldables while Samsung are again just releasing the same product year on year and depending on software

Some people clearly think its acceptable but for what they cost it's not. Samsung are not Apple where they think they can compete with them when they can't.

Apple are well known for nothing updates year on year but as I said Apple have nothing competing with them as nobody else runs IOS

Why do you think Samsung are releasing a z fold in China and Korea? Because they are losing money and sales there as simply better devices to choose from over there

So are Android destroying Apple overall with what they bring out? Yes easily

Are Samsung? No as Samsung are just doing what Apple are doing with less marketing and less interest

There is no hate from me about Samsung all what I've said are facts in regards to what Samsung aren't doing

I want Samsung to be great again it's certainly not hating. If people keep accepting what Samsung are doing then we won't see improvements. Same goes for Apple btw

This isn't a praising Apple post far from it. While Apple have added more recently both aren't doing enough to improve and are both releasing the same stuff year on year

I couldn't go iPhone only for a reason as other android phones are offering far more and destroying apple in so many areas.

In the US I agree but the trade ins in UK are pretty trash
