I wouldn't use ANY of the Samsung software.
I'd just erase the ENTIRE drive using disk utility for the Mac, and go on from there.
Note:
Some drives come with a pre-installed package of software from the manufacturer. I remember getting a Sandisk USB flash drive once that had a "protected partition" that not even disk utility would obliterate. The only way to remove the partition was to use Sandisk utility software which removed it, and THEN use disk utility on it.
I'm not sure if the t7 drives come with anything like this, or not (I don't have one).
