It looked nice, but I didnt like that it covered the back only.

That's actually a plus for me as I really don't like the look of cases with the front cutout. I just treat the front as any other phone where I wouldn't put anything on the front except maybe a screen protector.

I said the same until I wiped down the screens with a lens cloth.

That seemed to remove leftover gummy stuff for me, so the screens felt better, and continued to feel better as they got rewiped.

Yeah I use a lens cloth regularly, not a huge difference but it is noticeable, I've been meaning to try that lens wax that others have had good success with. One thing I've noted is not only are fingerprints less, but they are easier to wipe off. With the stock screen protector I felt as if I had to scrub the screen to get all the fingerprints. Now it's just one wipe of a lens cloth.

Well, that’s disappointing. I feel Note 10 and S10 users will receive a beta program for One UI 3.0... I don’t understand it. One would think Samsung will put more resources into the Fold... since apparently this is their new flagship going forward.

I mean, I get it... the adoption rate isn’t high and there’s so many Note and S owners. But my guess is Samsung will ship with One UI 3.1 for S30/S21 model. But will that then prolong Fold2 owners from a update... we will not get One UI 3.0, but One UI 3.1.

But we are on their radar. I totally forgot where I read it, but I read that One UI 3.0 had specific enhancements to the DPI of the inner screen of specifically the Fold 2, making the layout of content much better. I'll have to try and search where I read that, but at least it means there are Fold 2 specific changes which might mean we may get it sooner.

Samsung highlights new features coming to One UI 3.0 based on Android 11

Samsung has updated its website to highlight some of the new features coming in One UI 3.0, which is based on Google's Android 11 update.

One UI 3.0 has also been optimized for screen size, meaning it will adapt to whatever Galaxy device you’re using, including the Galaxy Z Fold 2. When the Z Fold 2 is closed, you’ll see a more traditional smartphone interface. But when opened, One UI 3.0 adjusts to the size of the Main Screen, offering a tablet-like experience.

Speaking of Samsung’s foldable device, Samsung said Dual Preview and Rear Cam Selfie will be available on the Galaxy Fold when One UI 3.0 is released. Galaxy Z Fold 2 owners already have access to both camera features. Samsung also highlights an expansion of its Dynamic lock screen from five categories in One UI 2.5 to 10 categories in One UI 3.0. Finally, the company’s website says that full-screen video calls are coming in the same update

Pretty good, it feels more secure than going without any case but due to the weight i think with a case it has hurt my hand from time to time. I have the same skin on my iPad Pro magic keyboard as well.

I’m not the greatest putting on skins i must admit but it seems good enough lol

Very much so.. happy with it still and so used to the form factor..i really have no complaints other than better app scaling which is not on the Fold but Android... I'm running the dual launchers closed and open but will like to see 3rd party availability like stock One UI so I can run just one...

So color me puzzled, why would anyone want a taller Fold2 ? If anything it needs to be a bit wider (although personally I'm mixed on that as I really like one handed use when closed). I guess they are trying to make the folded out screen wider when in landscape, but I really like the current aspect ratio.

Samsung has released a bigger Galaxy Z Fold 2, but you won't be able to buy it

The only difference between the Samsung W21 5G and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a flashier design and a taller body.

I would like to be in those Samsung Fold focus rooms. Who is saying "I like it" to a narrow outside display? I'll strongly recommend widening it out. Similar to Surface Duo.. I like the idea behind Surface Duo, but the execution was lacking.

The narrow outside display does have some pluses, for me it's one handed use, which is something I do a ton of during the day. I've even found I can swipe text very efficiently one handed. I've also found it's easier to pocket even though it's thicker, the narrow form factor just slides in much easier into my pocket. Although on the negative side typing on the narrower screen is atrocious and a huge headache.

I really get the feeling that the "folded" paradigm won't last long because of this and also how thick the phone has to be. I'm sure everyone has seen LG's leaked phone that is pretty much a regular smartphone size in both width and thickness, but that has the frames and a rollable screen extend out to either side to make the screen larger, seems like a better design. I have to say it's a great time to be alive seeing all this cool stuff unfold, no pun intended.

I second that on the thinner outside makes it useful for my usage patterns.. I would probably not use Folded as much if it wasnt slim.. Plus easier to carry and grip while closed...

I think Samsung is going in the right direction. The public wants something different... phone transformed into a tablet, that's what I want. However Samsung gets there... whether its rollable or foldable. I'm on the bandwagon.. wish it was Apple leading the way.

I honestly don't see Apple doing it. I think Apple going to just skip foldables all together and focus on AR.

IMO, I think wearables will be the future... from glasses with AR and when Apple Watch becomes standalone that will be where Apple is heading. They already have the tablet market with the iPad. Once Apple get to point where the Apple Watch can be standalone and can handle majority of iPhone task.

Well, when Siri gets smarter as far as being more conversational... having the Apple Watch on and using AirPods. And if you need a visual.. that's when the glasses come into place, that'll be future.

Definitely! If you don't understand that we are on the bleeding edge here and all pretty much beta testers then you shouldn't be buying a Fold device (not "you", just generic everyone). I just get surprised each and every time I open up my Fold 2 that for such a bleeding edge device it's so solid and stable, man I love this phone more every day.

I just get surprised each and every time I open up my Fold 2 that for such a bleeding edge device it's so solid and stable, man I love this phone more every day.

I'm all for being a beta tester. I sign up to be a beta tester throughout apps in the PlayStore. Even on my iPad, I have plenty of TestFlight apps. However, not too pleased with paying beta testing pricing for the Fold2. But that's the price we have to pay.

But I'm definitely enjoying this phone.. its the kind of device that makes you enjoy being a tech enthusiast.

Fold 2 is a great device I wouldn't say it's close to perfect as it still has no ip rating and it is very expensive so I wouldn't take it everywhere depending on the situation or use it in pouring rain but in terms of the tech inside its great.

I know it will happen but the cameras need to have same high end features as the S line but still cameras are more than good enough for most people but yes for 2k should have the same features as note ultra for example.

However its a one of a kind device which all other devices can't do what this can

Yeah.. that's the only negative. Well, besides water resistance. But I gotta feeling that if Samsung added more Camera specs to the Fold.. the higher the price tag would of been.
