Samsung's newest 32-inch Smart Monitor M80D is being discounted to a new record low price today on Amazon, available for $448.08, down from $699.99. This sale is only available in the Warm White color, and it can be delivered as soon as August 10.

This new deal beats the previous record low by about $50, and right now it's only available on Amazon. This version of the monitor launched back in June, and it retains many features of the previous model like USB-C charging connectivity, AirPlay 2 support, an integrated webcam, and several smart TV features that enable it to be used when not connected to a PC.

In terms of new features, the M80D includes a Multi Control feature that allows images and text to be moved between the display and a Galaxy Book, Tablet, or Phone. You can also pair Galaxy Buds to the monitor for a spatial audio experience with head tracking, as well as guided workouts when paired with a Galaxy Watch.

When you plug your computer into a 43" 4K TV that you paid less than $200 for, you realize that you'll never buy a "computer monitor" again.
This works for PCs and more casual use, but those TVs generally lack color accuracy and 4K at 43" is a far cry from the Retina I require anymore. I spent a lot of time in Excel with ThinkPad at my previous job, so a TV was perfect.

I'm comparing against pedestrian monitors like the one that is the subject of this article.

Even still - my 43" has plenty good color accuracy for pretty much anybody. It's not 2015 anymore.

Nah. I need something with USB C so it can power my Macbook and drive the display over one cable.

Sure, if you like looking at things through a screen door. 4K @ 43" gives you like 100 dpi. Great for a TV 10 feet away showing video content, not so hot on a screen 3 feet away showing text.

I mean, whatever floats your boat, more power to you -- but I don't think I'll "never buy a 'computer monitor' again".

I’ve had the same 40” Samsung monitors for home and work for about 6 years now. Yeah it isn’t 5k resolution but it’s damn good.

Yep color accuracy , responsiveness is why I will never use tvs for monitor or even gaming honestly, I tried my pc on my 4k tv 120hz and even on “gaming mod” the latency is trash compared to even a cheap 120hz monitor

I'm hoping the ViewFinity S9 gets a drop soon and pushes Apple to do something with their same, more expensive, monitor. They won't drop the price but they might up their game for the money they want for it.
As long as the S9 undercuts, and especially if that margin increases, there doesn't seem to be much point getting Apple's Studio monitor.
The only thing it might have is the video cam but when you can now use your iPhone camera, what's the point?

The S9 has a webcam, or am I misunderstanding your statement?

That thing has a boatload of poor reviews: https://www.samsung.com/us/computin...te-display-and-smart-features-ls27c900panxza/

Samsung monitors have burned me as well in the past. Good luck if you get it.

I kind of want to do that, however... the colors always appear to be completely off on a TV. Is that still the case today?

Just yesterday, I had a shade of light gray on my laptop and it would show as white on the TV at work...

Sorry but I have an LG 5K2K. It’s hard to convince me to use anything that isn’t 21:9.
