Please forgive me for asking but I have searched & can't decide.

I was going to order the samsung 470 ssd but have been offered the crucial m4 for a very good price, taking into account speed, garbage collection & reliabilty, which would you go for?

    I have a mbp 2011

If you have the option to get one at a "very good price", then that's the one I'd get.

Why not, mine works fine. Just have to be careful on which drive you pick.
    I've had zero problems.
I recommend the M4 , just make sure you upgrade to latest firmware.

    Thanks

@ jazzwire. Have you enabled TRIM or not? I read that the crucial GC is not that good

I do have trim enabled, via the terminal hack.
