I'm trying very very hard to wait for the Q1 MBP update. If we don't see an update to Sandy Bridge in Jan. than I'll just have to cave for the 2.8 i7 640M

Meh. A speed bump's a speed bump's a speed bump. They're always coming. New architecture, blah - it's simply a speed bump.

Drop an SSD in your machine, it'll do more for you than any chip bump would.

I don't think it'll be just a speed bump. I think there will be a design change, removal of the optical drive, and better graphics as well. I think it's worth the wait. I'm waiting lulz

If you are really going to point out the T-Series, I think you're burnt out. Just walk away from the thread. Two completely different markets buddy.

As a consumer if we bought a laptop only for what we needed it for than we would be better off just buying a cheap pc and if you aren't a retard you can make it last years. I've had the same dell for 5 years and this thing has been running like a champ as I moved from xp to windows 7 without a problem.

Look I think the mbp is a great laptop, or else I wouldn't be buying one. btw the envy isn't that bad. also the t-series has a version that's about an inch thick I believe and that runs like a champ too. being an apple fan boy is just as elitist and stupid as being a pc fanboy. the asus ul series are all about an inch or so thick and they all have core iX and gaming graphics as well. what they beat the mbp in specs they lose to in build quality. still, it could easily last for 5+years. I know macs are known for lasting long but I know mac owners who've had to replace only 2-3 year old machines too. if you're gonna ride apple so hard I hope you have lube son lulz.
