Hey guys, as a high schooler with his first MacBook Pro, and coming from Windows XP, I have a lot of questions about Macs. Hopefully you can answer some of them :D My first question is: How can you monitor the Turbo Boost 2.0 in the new Sandy Bridge MBPs? Is there a widget I can download? Thanks in advance!!

Take a look at THIS thread. There does not appear to be a way on the mac. However if you download iStat it will give you an idea of how hard your cpu is working.

Thanks, I already have iStat and I love it, but unfortunately it doesn't tell the Turbo Boost :( Hopefully Intel/Apple will come up with something to monitor the Turbo Boost for Macs

I was fortunate enough to stumble across a method to do this by means of Anandtech's review of these. Apparently there is a program called MSR Tools that can do this.

Here's a screen cap.
