i am not too tech savvy. would anybody be able to explain what 'santa rosa chips' are?

are they better than the dual core 2 processor chips or are they even related? and importantly why should i care about them in a mac?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for that Eidorian, but wikipieda uses tech language and words that are out of my knowledge. can the chips e sumarised in more simpler terms?

It's the same Core 2 Duo chips from last time except with a faster data bus, new processor socket, and a new wireless card.

The biggest difference is probably the bus speed increase. Previous chips had a front side bus of 667MHZ while the Santa Rosa chips now have a bus speed of 800MHZ.
