I have searched for the specific absorbtion rates for the iphone 4s to no avail. Have any of you run across these specs? The iphone 4 had a rate of 1.18 or thereabouts, and I'm curious if the 4s will be the same or perhaps radically different due to the realingment/redo of the antennas. If that even has anything to do with it.
I preordered from Sprint with a delivery date of the 14th or 15th.

All of the FCC data should be available at their (the FCC) site.

The 4S should about the same, or less than the 4. I say less, because the diversity system should allow lower transmit power (cell phones are designed to use a minimum transmit power to avoid interfering with neighboring cell towers).

Also, wifi and Bluetooth antennas have been moved to the back of the phone, possibly lowering the SAR (average, since those use a different frequency band as that of cellular).
