Sata 3 question

Will a optibay or data doubler prohibit sata 3 speed on a dual sata 3 mbp?

Thats not actually completely accurate. The initial run of MacBooks in 2011 had sata 2 ports for the expansion bay. The revision shipping now enables sata 3 for the expansion bay.

Thats also not completely accurate. Someone just received their CTO MBP and it came with SATA2 optical port.
