Sata 3 question

    Will a optibay or data doubler prohibit sata 3 speed on a dual sata 3 mbp?

    yep only one SATA 3 port to the hdd, the optical bay only has SATA 2

    Thats not actually completely accurate. The initial run of MacBooks in 2011 had sata 2 ports for the expansion bay. The revision shipping now enables sata 3 for the expansion bay.

    when did they revise them? Sorry if i posted misinformation, hadn't heard about this anywhere! :D

    Thats also not completely accurate. Someone just received their CTO MBP and it came with SATA2 optical port.
