Hey guys,

I'm planing to buy an SSD for my MacBook Pro (13 Inch, Mid-2010). Like You all, this MBP doesn't have a SATA-3 controller.
So is it worth buying an SATA-3 SSD for this MacBook? I Would prefer the Vertex 3 120GB, but at which speed would this actually work?

Or should I just stick to an Intel 320 SSD?

I hope you can help me, and forgive me for yet another SSD Topic.

Cheers, DaDalle

You can use a SATA 3 SSD, but it would only work at SATA 2 speeds, so spending the extra money on it would be a waste.

Get an SSD that is actually reliable. I.e. Samsung 470 or Intel 320. Since you have SATA 3Gb/s, it really makes no sense to buy SATA 6Gb/s SSD, especially with all their issues.
