SAS drives in mac pro 5,1

I have optained a number of HPE SAS 4TB drives MB4000FCWK. Removed the HPE cage and installed one in a free drive sled of my mac pro. It fits perfectly. If i start the mac the drive not spin up and is not seen in disk utility. Any ideas why ?
