Hi, I have a 250gb sata hard drive lying around that I'd like to put into an enclosure, but preferably one that can turn on and off automatically when my mac is on. Any recommendations? I've searched, but can't seem to find any. I know this is possible since I own a Maxtor One Touch 4 drive that does it. Thanks for your advice.

Hello Bosk,

I have a similar requirement, except that I don't necessarily need the auto on/off feature.

Please follow-up and let us know the results of your effort and, hopefully, your recommendations.🙂

Thanks,
L

Thanks, that's an option, but I was looking for something cheaper? for that price, I could just buy an external hd with more storage...

You could go with something cheaper, but then again, we are Mac people....

EDIT: I have 2 of these. No complaints. Quad interface too!

It is a bit pricey, but it contains FireWire cables . . . which aren't cheap, and probably not included with less expensive enclosures or stand-alone drives.
