    Hello All,

This whole dropping the SATA speed in the new MBP 13"/15" got me wondering about when we might see the new III standard appear in the notebook range.

Some quick Google searching let me know that the standard has been released, but I guess it will take some time to filter through eh?

No hurry I guess as the current range of SSDs are not up to that sort of speed (yet). But I also thought about the possibility of seeing double/RAID SSDs in a MBP one day soon too! Now that would fly, and need the appropriate connectors.

    Ideas anyone?

    Cheers

Didn't you hear Apple will be using PATA drives next?

They dropped the Expresscard slot because they are working on an ISA expansion slot. I hear the bandwidth is a whopping 8Mb/sec. I'll finally be able to put this ancient dial-up modem to good use, unless they make it a "standard" MicroISA slot, then I'll need a $29.99 adapter.

    :)
