SATA on G4 Quicksilver

Do i need a Raid card to install a SATA hd for this model (quicksilver). Or can i just get a converter cable (IDE ATA-to-SATA).😕

You need an SATA controller. Doesn't need to have RAID capabilities, which significantly add to cost, you just need the controller.

This is a good example and should work for your system.

You need a SATA Controller as stated, I got a 4 port internal SATA in my Digital Audio Powermac, this one http://eshop.macsales.com/item/SIIG/SCSA4M12/ too bad its sold out. Works like a charm.

b4 that I had a Firmtek 2port card, also great.....would recommend either one, you probably can find them on ebay for cheap 🙂
