That looks perfect for my needs - will just be left on my desk as a mini docking station I guess. Good that it has Ethernet in there too.

Have ordered one, but one question, why is the connecting cable from the hub to your laptop so short? Just means you need to have it right next to the laptop rather than hidden away out of sight.

Or can you buy a USB-C extension cable with male to female connectors?

Kind of happy to have everything in the same dongle as well. Not sure why the cable is so short but nothing that would bother me. I am sure there will be extension cables. I will post if I find anything.

Do you have any clue whether it can charge the new 15"MBP? (It requires 85 Watt or something from the top of my head - some of these docks are limited to 60 Watt)

In the end I ordered the version: "Satechi Slim Aluminum Type-C Multi-Port Adapter with Type-C Charging Port, 4K HDMI Video Output, and 2 USB 3.0 Ports"

It arrived today, feels like a well-made bit of kit and works perfectly. I'm using it for HMDI and USB to my dell monitor with the Apple charger passing through and means its just a single cable in to the laptop. Can definitely recommend it.

Can you confirm a couple things?

1. Is the 4K display running at 60 Hz?
2. Are you getting USB 3.0 transfer speeds on the 2 ports (ideally with the 4K display running at 60 Hz)?

Just got a reply from Satechi Technical Support: "The Power Output is 49w".
Which is not enough for the 15" MBP (although I do not know what the consequences would be, e.g. no charging, slow battery drain, reduced performance, ...?)

Tbh, it doesn't matter. I won't be using it for pass through charging at all. I have got 3 ports doing f*** all. Just got this dongle as it gets me all missing ports.

And if I am not wrong, the 13 inch one uses 60W. So we both are in the same boat then.

I've not bothered to buy a 4K display, sorry I can't help!

In that case, the only one that supports the pass through charging for 15 MBP is the Belkin one but it will cost you an arm and a leg. o_Oo_O
Already lost one arm and a leg when buying the 15 MBP so I should be careful with my remaining limbs...

Do you have Bootcamp installed? If so could you please test if the Ethernet Port works in Windows 10 without any additional third Party Drivers?

I ordered the Satechi for my 2016 15 Inch MBP and I run Bootcamp.
