Using Safari on Intel Macbook pro OSX10.6.8 I can access my online banking with HSBC HK no problem.

When viewing bank statements (that are viewable in their entirety within a popup window) I will usually press command+P >> PDF >> save as PDF to download and save an offline copy.

However, I noticed that the last 3 mths of statements that I downloaded only show part of the statement, the part that was actually on my screen at the time I saved it (just like a screen cap), even if that means the pdf will save half of one page and half of the next i.e. it is not printing 1 page out of 3.

Prior to the 3 mths there was not an issue.

I tried again and always got the same results, also if I just tried to print and not save as pdf same issue. The print preview shows the "screen cap" not the whole document.

I assume it has something to do with the pop up window and how it relates to the safari print command. HSBC had no solution. Any ideas?

I tried using FF on same laptop and after clicking on same link FF opened the pop up window to display the statement but ALSO opened another window that says "You have chosen to open estatement.pdf what should FF do with this file? Open with (drop down menu with relevant apps) / Save file."
I saved to file. File was the whole statement. Beautiful. Why is it so hard with Safari?

You've gotten better results than I have; I can't even get FireFox to successfully logon to my bank.

The display is really a javascript, apparently, that displays the info. Look at your addressbar, you'll see it isn't "statement.pdf" for example. I haven't been able to get them to print on any browser I've tried.

So I suspect it's something on the bank's end (and BTW I'm accessing a different bank).

What version Firefox are you using?

version 3.6.11
Guess I will just make do with the workaround, if I remember correctly both FF and Opera worked it was just Safari
good luck with your problem.
If switching browsers doesn't work it might be time to switch banks lol!

I did get it to work with FF 9 finally, but I still have to make it open in Preview and then save it. Annoying.

Perhaps it's more work than necessary, but I've found File > Print > PDF (in lower left) always saves the whole document as PDF.
