Save the penny?

I'm all for having the penny go the way of the dinosaur. Never liked that stores would price an item as 99-cents instead of using a regular old $1 sign.

I'm interested in what the states are going to do about their sales tax though?

I'm absolutely sick of pennies. Honestly there's nothing worse than having to count 300 pennies that have accumulated in the cash drawer at work over the course of the day.

Pennies also seem to be dirtier than other coins, they stick together more, and they leave a chalky residue on your hands if you count a lot of them. In other words, sucky. Honestly if we could do with just nickels I'd be so happy (though by the time they make these kinds of changes, I doubt I'll be working at a cash register, however I still feel for the people who have to).

Like 2 years ago my dad cashed in $181.xx worth of pennies.

He put all of them in this big bucket in our basement and finally decided to cash them in.
