Saving a header and footer on word

Hi Guys,

New to forum!

Just received my Mac computer and downloaded Microsoft Word but I'm struggling to be able to save a header and footer as a template, could anyone point me in the right direction?

On my only windows PC you could add footer to template gallery but i cannot find it on the mac!

Is this Word 2016?

Should be a simple matter of creating the document with the header and footer, and choosing File > Save as Template. Once you've saved it, the template should then appear in the Documents Gallery.
