So, my sister is in control of her school's famous annual literary magazine, and last year she did it all in Word, and it came out terribly. This year, she hired me, and I convinced her to buy QuarkXPress 7.

We've finished, and we've sent it to the printer, but the cover has so many layers that it will not convert to a PDF. So, I simply sent it in as a QuarkXPress 7 file, but the printer hasn't upgraded to version 7 yet, so they're asking me to "save down". How do I do this? I'm a little new at Quark.

    Thanks!

Step 1: Buy InDesign. J/k. You should be able to hit File > Save As, and (unless Quark is much different than every other program), there should be a "Save as version" or something similar in the save dialog. Choose Quark 6 (or 5 or whatever) from that and you should be good to go!

Nope, nothing like that there. The printer said that there was something like that in 6.5, but I don't see anything in version 7.

ANYBODY, HELP! I need to know how to do this by tomorrow!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe inDesign CS2 only supports up to Quark 4.
