What do ya think?

I'm skeptical. That sounds too good to be true, as those retail for 2.5x that. If it's in good condition, the seller either doesn't know how much it's worth, or it's bogus.

He's going to be out of the country and and offer to sell it through some service you've never heard of. That's my prediction. :D

Or, he'll ask you to meet him at a house in a part of town you have never been to. He will also ask you to bring cash and to meet him late at night (because he has to work).

"Never go to a place you don't know. Make sure it's safe and very public. Never go to someone's house or apartment."

Also, for "big ticket" expenditures, see if you have a friend who will go along with you. Strength in numbers.

There's no need to be so fearful of people. Plumbers, Electricians, Technicians &c go into strangers homes all the time (sometimes with many thousands of dollars worth of tools). Most of them have not been beaten, killed or robbed during their entire careers visiting thousands of homes. This is going to both wealthy and seedy areas.

Just use some common sense. Like if the price is too good to be true it is probably a scam. If someone was actually selling at this price it is either already sold or the seller will be raising the price after getting flooded with inquiries.

.

That situation is FAR different from going there with cash to buy something.

There is a huge difference. Many of these people are licensed professionals. I don't know anyone who just decides to bring someone like this into their home without some knowledge of what company they own/work for and who they are in the professional sense.

I'm sorry, but I'd rather call a plumber to my house than have someone from Craigslist come by and if they must come by (for example if I am selling a fridge), they come to my garage and nothing more.

I figure it's a scam but I HAD to ask the guy about it!! LOL
I haven't heard back from him. :D

I've had to meet people places to buy stuff before, and we always meet at mcDonald's, and I always take the hubby. :)
