Um Siri sucks bro. Try using it in the real world. A quarter of the time it works the rest of the time I just give up.

Now that i do have my 4s, i actually use siri all the time. The only time she messes up are when i mumble (and i'm usually aware when i mumble when asking siri something lol)

OP i just found out that this does crash mine as well. But i haven't found anything else that make her crash though.

Mine doesn't crash, but I do get "Sorry, something's wrong. Can you try that again?"

No reboot or respring. So I'm not characterizing it as a crash per se. Though it definitely can't do what is asked.

id say try again later, the "sorry, something's wrong. can you try that again?" usually means siri isn't able to connect correctly with apple's servers.

You'd think so, but it successfully pulled up my contact and did other request just fine, immediately before and after.

Well, just tried it again. NOW it crashed!

Wow asking Siri to edit a contact caused the most legit crash I've ever seen my iPhone do (that didn't involve jb'ing anyway).

Interesting, my vote evened the poll at 77/77.

As of this post the poll is exactly 50/50. 77 votes each.

Can you say SiriGate...ha..ha...ha.....

Antennagate
Batterygate
Sirigate

Apples degenerating downhill fast

Just kidding, I'm sure they'll have it fixed in a jiffy :)

I admit I was sceptical but I gave it a try.

Me "Show me Robert McGovern"
Siri "Here is your Contact"
M "Edit Contact"
S "Sorry I can't edit contacts"
M "Edit My Contact"
S <Siri crashes>

On 5.1b1

[Edit] Don\'t know if it had already been done but a bug report has been filed.

I tried saying "Edit my contact" 6 times and each time it showed me asking "Add to my contact" or "Added my contact".

And this is when I'm alone in my room, such poor recognition

Curious, because in the ten thousand views this thread has accumulated, it seems you are the only one who's spoken about an issue with that. Perhaps you have a poor accent.

Who......Cares

If it just wasn't an option, nobody would care. But since it "crashes" it's a big deal? It's a very tiny detail/glitch that'll probably be fixed on the first Siri update.

FYI I tried it just for kicks and here's the response I got:
ME: "Show [contact name]"
Siri: "Ok, here's that contact:"
Me: "Edit Contact"
Siri: "I can't make changes to your contacts, Adam. You can do it in the Contacts app, though."

No Crash. And I did say "edit contact" (not plural)

That's quite a long post for someone who "doesn't care".

...and at the end of it he didn't use the correct command either!

it's 'edit my contact', not 'edit contact'.

Crashed here too.

Crazy how one single 2 letter word is the difference between crashing and not.

It did, in fact, crash when I said "edit MY contact" vs. not crashing at all when I said "edit contact."

I still could care less, it's more of a curiosity thing now. I honestly cannot remember the last time I had to edit a contact other than straight up deleting it.

Just figured I'd at least be honest and correct myself since you guys pointed out my mistake.

FWIW, I tried again and said "Edit THE contact" and it didn't crash. I got the same message as I got when I said "edit contact."

So..

"Edit Contact" = Siri: "I can't make changes to your contacts. You can do it in the Contacts app, though."

"Edit MY Contact" = SIRI CRASH

"Edit THE Contact" = Siri: "I can't make changes to your contacts. You can do it in the Contacts app, though."
