I'm soon to buy a 27" Dell U2713HM, to use with my 2010 13" MacBook Pro.
I plan to run it in 1280x720 HiDPI mode, which is how I use the 11" MacBook Air and Thunderbolt display at work.
The Retina 13" MacBook Pro offers the ability to use a scaled resolution of 1440x900, where it renders 2880x1800 in the GPU, which is then scaled down to the 2560x1600 actual pixels of the display.
I'd like for my MacBook Pro to use a HiDPI resolution of 1440x810. It would need to generate everything at 2880x1620 and then scale that down to 2560x1440.
Does anyone know if this is possible? My MacBook Pro will be running with the lid closed, but can the NVIDIA GeForce 320M even generate 2880x1620?
