Okay, I gotta go look for this. Our living room TV (65" LG UK6500AUA, 2018 model) has had AppleTV+ for over a year, but our bedroom TV (43" LG UJ6300, 2017 model) doesn't. I've been bugging LG support periodically, asking when they're going to add it. Both have had Disney+ for awhile.

Update: UJ6300 still doesn't have it (webOS version 6.00.04). Maybe it's coming soon.

Update to my update: Well, if I'd read the whole article, I'd have seen it's in the LG Content Store. I didn't even have to search for it - it's in the upper right-hand corner on the main screen of the content store. I got it installed, signed in by QR code, and launched it. And yes, it just has AppleTV+, Search, and Settings. On the UK6500AUA, I have Watch Now, AppleTV+, Movies, TV Shows, Library, Search, and Settings. I never had to install it on the UK6500AUA; it just showed up one day, in the apps banner.

Honestly I stopped using TV manufacturers’ app stores. They rarely update the apps and are also laggy. You get a much better experience from a set top box or USB stick.

As others have said, I can confirm this is now showing up on older Samsung TV’s as well.

I have an Apple TV 4K myself, but my grandparents are part of my family sharing and have a 2018 Saunsung 4K TV and now they’ll also be able to watch AppleTV+ content as they didn’t want to spend out on an external device such as a fire tv stick or an Apple TV. I’ll install this for them when I next see them!

Why the unnecessary confusion? Now we’ve got:

Apple TV (box)
Apple TV (App)
Apple TV+ (service)
Apple TV+ (app)

For the Apple TV app confusion, we’ve got:

Apple TV app that can access iTunes content, Apple TV+ & integrate content from other services (Apple devices only)

Apple TV app that can access iTunes content & Apple TV+, but can’t integrate content from other services (non-Apple devices)

Apple TV+ app that can only access Apple TV+ content

They should change the name of the hardware or app + their service & allow iTunes content to be accessed as well as content from other services everywhere.

Why though? Get a FireTV stick and have a far better experience. It’s much faster than even current gen TV CPUs. Forget smart TV software, they are deliberately designed crap and slow down very quickly, tempting you to buy a new TV. No such crap happens with FireTV stick (or Roku if you despise Bezos).

Working on our 2016 49UH610T. I’m planning on an Apple TV but not until December so this is just perfect in the meantime.

You have it installed on the 43UJ6300? I hope they support my 43uj701 as well in the near future

Just an update, today the Apple TV+ app appeared on my tv (43uj701v from 2017). Navigation is a bit laggy but watching is smooth

I’m surprised your 2017 LG software is even usable now. My 2017 is slow as hell now. It amazes me that TV manufacturers are *still* getting away with planned obsolescence.

I bought a 4K fire stick and the experience is infinitely better! I pretty much exclusively use that now as its remote controls the power/volume for the TV as well. Well worth the money.

Mine is fine, atv+ app shown today on my 43UJ635V-ZF, supports 4k too. Seems to work well!

My LG B7 OLED is slow as hell now. I have a 2015 Samsung top-of-the-line JS9000 too that is basically unusable without the fire stick. Hopefully yours don’t get as bad as mine!
