i am defiantly not taking this deal but i have not told him/her no yet so if you guys want to have a little fun with this scammer just tell me what you want to say illl quote his response here

Just tell him you talked a relative over there, and your uncle is willing to meet him in person to check it out :)

I'd wonder how he would weasel out of that. But he probably would just say he found another buyer and sold it.

It's not a deal. It's a scam. Stop thinking that there is a "deal", please.

You might want to look into refurb at
store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac

Write them back and explain you'll wait the month until they return to the US from their vacation.

And what seminar gives a MBP as part of their ticket price?!? BS...

didnt i tell you i wasnt going to go for this?

Yes, I did see in one post that you said you wouldn't take the deal - when you mentioned you had fallen for it before.

Didn't mean to offend you, most people on here asking questions like you did won't listen to reason when everyone tells them it's a scam, and that there are piles of evidence to prove it. I've seen too many forum users want to believe it so badly that they are willing to put the charges on their credit card (that they can dispute later) because they are desperate enough to want to believe that it's a 'deal' and not a 'scam'.

I've heard of people on eBay selling brand new computers for a few hundred off - I don't know if they are stolen, or feel off the back of a truck or are legit, but this is way too good to be true.

"what i am trying to say is that i have the laptop with me"

You really believe that he is lugging an unopened 17" computer in the box to Greece just so he can sell it to someone in the US and ship it? If he traveled through an airport, I almost guarantee that the box has been opened.

Exactly - the security people are not going to allow you to lug an unopened box through.

honestly, i'll have to say on the many occasions people get scammed it's their own fault or greed.

though i'll exclude the people who've bought apple care from ebay.

but $700 for a MBP? right...

It blows my mind that some people are so gullible, almost makes you want to go out and scam people due to their sheer stupidity.

It sucks though because I'm trying to sell a lot of DSLR gear legitimately from abroad (American selling from Japan since I moved here in July) but nobody will understandably take the bait, even though I'm legit with legit, average prices.

...have you tried any of the "Hardoff" buy and sell stores here?

Where are you located, PM me if you'd like?

Keep running, if you go fast enough it'll be true.

I agree: against human nature

I live by the rule "if its too good to be true, then it probably is"

Shipping from a foreign country? $2500+ off retail? NEW?

I dont buy it, and you shouldnt either.

This is way too good to be true. It doesn't pass the sniff test.

Nobody would way undervalue the laptop like this even if part of a gift!

Walk away from this stinker.

If I remember right.... DHL no longer deals in the US. They pulled out of the US is what I remember hearing on the news. Happened because of the economy here and that they weren't doing that good with their US Market. So obviously this is a scam. TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

You are partially correct. DHL's domestic shipping division is no longer in business within the US. I.e. airborne express and domestic DHL services operating wholly within the US, withdrew services due to poor economic conditions. Their international services still exist in the US (i.e. shipping from the US to an international destination and shipping from an international destination to the US.

All said and done though, this is definitely a scam.

It sounds like a scam and is clearly too good to be true. One thing I always do just to confirm it is a load of bull is to offer to meet them wherever they are and do a cash deal. Just say you're over on business or you have a friend locally or whatever. Scammers usually go quiet after this sort of offer.
