You know it's fixed and honestly I can't remember what I did. I'm thinking upgrade to the new OSX and hopefully that will fix it. I did last night and it's fine.

I got it to stop by re-selecting the HP scanner in system preferences. Long story as to why I unselected it in the first place. Thanks
