What are some good options for scanners? I'm looking to be able to scan pictures at a very high quality for use in video slideshow projects. Thanks for any info.

I'm fond of the Epson Perfection series.. that's what we use in lab (for print).

I'll second the Epson perfection recommendation. First class scanners - I use one as part of my daily workflow (scanning images for print).

If you can't afford something quite that expensive, the Canon LIDE models are great for the price.

Which one of the Perfections? I guess what I really need to know is what kind of dpi should I be looking for to get scans that looks (close at least) to digital.

I guess I'm going to choose between these two:

    Canon 8800F

    Epson Perfection V500

Looks like the Epson has better overall resolution. What do you think about the choices?

If you're using this for video slide shows, any scanner made in the last 5 years will have a high enough resolution.
