Scanning with printer makes MacBook Pro really hot

Hi!

I have an EPSON XP-102 printer and a retina Macbook Pro late 2013(Mavericks)

Everytime I scan something, the temperature will shoot up to 80+ degress Celsius

It doesn't shoot up when I print though

Any solution?

Are you using Image Capture for scanning purposes?
If so, try playing with the scan resolution (DPI) and see how that works for you.
