All the posts in this thread are all way too subjective to make it interesting. Shouldn't we discuss the philosophical ideas on what makes a thing right or wrong rather than how he smells or how rich you think he is?

That would only make sense if that is how the collective 'we' processed it when we were in that situation, or hypothetically in that situation.

I wouldn't sit there and mental battle over the moral dilemmas surrounding my taking/theft of the lost funds because while I was ponder some other person would swipe it up from under my nose....and that would downright suck.

Plus, if someone chooses to judge someone by how they smell, that is their choice. Not everyone operates off of philosophical ideals, regardless of if you think it is right to do so or not. I may return it if he is wearing a tie, but not if he is wearing a hat....it all makes sense to me because I hate hats ;)

Basically, I'm just stating that it's all relative to however each individual processes a given situation, and how good they are at convincing themselves of their own justifications. There is no question the 'right' thing to do is return it, but I'm an expert justifier, I can make myself believe there is a greater good :p
