I have long loved the music of Scott Walker - haunting, melodic and creatively brilliant all at once, when he was at his very best.

And, so, today, when I learned of his death, I played some of his music.

    RIP Scott Walker.

From melodic Pop to the heart of darkness, great music through the years. Immense legacy.

And death finally said "check-mate" to Noel Scott Engel. Of course the first song I played after learning of his passing was "The Seventh Seal".

Huge influence to such a variety of artists, from David Bowie to Nick Cave to Jarvis Cocker, and on and on. He was one of my all-time favorites, from the Walker Brothers to the Sunn O))) collaboration, even if they were so dramatically different. A true artist and visionary.

Unforgettable, utterly original and strangely haunting music.
