The sooner you call the better. I received a MacBook Pro two years ago with the screen shattered and called immediately. They asked me if I had dropped the package upon receiving it, I said no (which I didn't), and they replaced it.
 
Something that obvious they will take care of it. Got my MacBook Pro with a dent that you probably wouldn't notice if you don't look at it from the right angle/light and very out of the way, near the edge of the left palm rest, and Apple exchanged it no problem.

Knowing myself, I think I always look there every time I use it....if it were a car, I would have returned immediately to the dealer (unfortunately here is the apple online store..). I'll call them. The european centre is in the Netherlands, hope the whole thing don't last too much time...
