I don't get the surprise... it's effectively the same glass they use on the iPhone. Yes, it's more fragile than sapphire, but you are also paying quite a bit less.

Only thing I was kind of worried about is the watch being exposed to potential bumps and scuffs more often than the phone.
 
In his "steel wool" test he isn't actually using steel wool....:rolleyes:

Good to see the screen is pretty resiliant though.
