So I was applying a screen protector today and that was when I noticed a small scratch which could have been there from day one. I am just wondering if it is worth it to return and get a new one. I can’t see it normally with use only when screen is off on an angle. What do you think I should do? I have until Jan 17, 2019 to return? It looks to me a screen protector should be applied on day one and is necessary. I also have not used the Apple Pencil waiting for it in the mail it come so it was not the pencil that caused it.

Well you’ve gone to the trouble to write up a post about a scratch you say you can’t see when using the iPad and apparently not even when it’s off unless you turn the whole thing just so which means that clearly it bothers you. So yeah return it.

You have until 1/8/19 to return it in store or to initiate the return online if purchased after 11/14 (if that’s how you purchased it from Apple). I’d return it.

If you care enough about the device to put a screen protector on, I think it will bother you to know there is a scratch under it even if you can't see it. Return it.

I’d return it, but I’m OCD.

Apple’s initial return policy is the best in the industry. You get a grace period where you can return the device no questions asked, and with no restocking fees. Lenovo, Dell, HP, and others make returns a hassle, and some charge astronomical restocking fees.

Take advantage of it if the scratch is something you think will bother you after January 17.

Can you eve see the scratch under the protector lol

Generally, screen protectors conceal scratches very well, if it’s a micro-scratch, it’s nearly impossible to see it with a screen protector, but it depends how severe it is on the display.

Generally it’s till January 8th. As that’s 14 days from 12/25/18. However if you purchased from apple.com and hit the return button on the 8th, it gives you additional 14 days to return it and they have to receive it by 1/22/18 for them to refund it. This is Only if you send it via FedEx (US).
