Get some perspective! You buy a very expensive laptop even though you obviously have no money and then you want someone else to take the blame for it. Just live with it! Looking at it every day will remind you to buy something in your price range next time.

Although perhaps considered a youth of today I might point out that I have cherished and cared for an iMac G4 since 2002, a good 11 years of servitude to the :apple: religion

Although again, I do understand that being a long term customer ≠ right to new display

Still quite amazed at how riled up people have gotten...even received a PM from someone 8 years my junior with a lecture on ethics, morality and how to spend my money!

So you're purchased what looks like 4 or 5 apple products in the last 13 years...Not sure how that equals a new display for free.

Also, just a question for you, once you ear your medical degree, are you going to just turn over when a patient of yours demands free things after coming to see you twice? Like, for example, you set a bone for them and then they go skiing and break it again. Is that your fault or their fault? Should the fact that they've seen you twice before entitle them to free medical care?

Lol! Of all the posts this has to be the most ignorant and least useful.

Well fortunately I'll be working for the NHS so won't have to worry about being paid like that.

Again another fool who seems to assume that trying to get a replacement display on warranty even though its an out of warranty = I'm going to screw my patients over with ethical fails.

And finally I used the ≠ sign not the = sign. Read more carefully next time.

Why, because you didn't actually buy any of your gear?

Well I was bought a 13" macbook years ago and used money I'd earnt working in cafés and from selling that to pay for it so it was half my money. Whats stupid about it is that you're saying I should have bought crappier computer because I would be able to replace it if it broke....

----------

Oh and I should probably add I went to the store today, said I had no idea (lied) and its now in for replacement.

Can't tell you how happy I am to have done what I did and not had to pay the £506 including labor to replace the damn thing...

Of course due to the immorality of what I did it is safe to assume I will now grow to be an awful money grabbing, lying doctor who doesn't care for their patients. honestly some of the people on these forums...I'd love to meet you in person!

Well thats good to hear! Apple not trying to blame this on you. (Whether you can live with the guilt is a different thing ;))

I still think it's good to admit it if you screwed up. At least in a case where you're dealing with actual people. On the other hand I won't be loosing a tear for Apple with their misleading one year guaranty advertisement here in Germany.

Well we wont meet you as a patient

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure this is what his office will look like...

Get him.....using the word "honestly"......like he even understands it's meaning.

What a wasted soul.........

Hahaha I'm a 'wasted soul'

I mean...are you for real...its astounding how people can extrapolate things other people post on the internet to something like that. If I'm a wasted soul then I have to say I highly recommend being one as it seems to be doing great for me so far!

Agreed.

What else can the OP do? Uh?
Live with it, damn! If you dont have money, dont blame other people for YOUR fault.

Or go ask daddy money to replace it...

But don't lie. Seriously, your parents must have taught you better.
Yes I am lying but I've got to say a) I'm not dealing with a person and b) of course my parents taught me better but actually my Dad would be bloody pleased with me if I got a £500 repair for free from Apple rather than asking him to front the cash.

There's your answer -- obviously they didn't...

retina screen replacements are in high demand right now. you're not getting ***** for free lol. Start savin' buddy. Ramen and water

OP, this is one of the better tantrums on MR ;)

People on here gave you good advice, but what did you expect? You have to learn responsibility mate. Your Laptop, You damaged it, your responsibility. Apple is not your parents, how about your go to your Dad and ask him to fix it ;) He will tell you what he thinks
