iPhone 12 mini Screen aspect ratio

Hey. I have very few complaints when it comes to the Mini, but do you guys also feel that the screen aspect ratio should have been 16:9 in order to reduce the height of the phone (which hinders full one handed use)?

It would have been nice if the phone was a little shorter but, I don't think we will see that happen. I am resigned to the fact that the mini is as small as Apple intends to go for the foreseeable future.

I haven't had the opportunity to see the mini in person yet, but I had the same thought when it was announced. I'm assuming Apple prefers the longer aspect ratio so that you can watch 16:9 content without the notch cutting into the content, but I agree with you, this would probably improve the usability.

You have a good point there. The notch would be even bigger (and it’s more than big enough already) if the screen were to be 16:9... I hadn’t thought about that...

I don't think that there is any issue with the aspect ratio. Earlier the size was kept small and now the screen is quite big.
