Houston (duh)
My S4, 44mm Aluminum definitely auto adjusts to bright light (eg daylight).
However, I cannot find a way to turn that off like you can on a Mac book or iPhone.

Am I missing something?

Thanks. It’s not a big issue but wish I could turn it off. I’m sure it’s so Apple can claim battery stats and not have users shorten the life then complain. lol

There is a reason why Apple Watch is all black themed. It's to conserve what little battery it has via using OLED's tech to its advantage. Hence, Apple decided to enact a tighter control of the brightness level by stripping user's ability to control brightness themselves.
