So I just got a 15 inch MacBook Pro 2017 like 5 days ago, just getting used to it and all, but just noticed that the screen feels a bit "dim" or darkened whenever the brightness is not set to max (to my eyes at least.. don't have a way to measure the actual brightness). I thought these were suppose to have very bright displays compared to last generation? Just to clarify: On max brightness I think it's fine, but the moment I turn it down even by one or two notches it seems a lot dimmer. As it's a laptop setting it to max brightness will kill the battery life a lot more, so I'm just wondering if everyone's doing the same? and if I keep it on max brightness would I damage the display in anyway over long term? Cause I've been using a monitor on my desktop on max brightness all the time without noticing anything. Cause so far I've been using the laptop mostly plugged in as I'm just at home, but I will be taking it to college starting Monday and just wondering if I'll be needing to find an outlet whenever I'm there or I can just leave my charger at home (extra weight I'd rather not be carrying).

Long story short: Are these supposed to be way dimmer the moment you start adjusting the brightness level? and is there any adverse affects besides the worse battery life?(and how much of a hit on battery life can I expect?)
