Screen Dims

Hi, i have my mac (Lion) set to turn the asleep if the computer is idle for 1 hour when it is using the power adaptor, however i have noticed that the screen completely dims right down after a few minutes and i cannot see a setting for this anywhere...

For your information, i also have the following unchecked:

Automatically reduce brightness before display goes asleep

Can anyone consider why the above might be happening... thanks in advance

I guess you already checked System Preferences > Energy Saver > Display Sleep?

Yes, i have that set to 1 hour... it seems to only happen on my main (1st) desktop screen, i generally use 3... the thing is it does not sleep, just dims a lot

In the Energy Saver settings see if "Automaticly reduce the display brightness before display sleep" is checked.

No, i mentioned that in my original post... that is unchecked 🙁

Maybe the ambient light in the room is changing, and the computer is adjusting screen brightness.

I have that turned off also...
