Screen discoloration in lower left corner

I recently came across a retina MBP which was working but had this strange discolored spots in the lower left corner.
It also had staingate but it seems this particular spot is behind the display glass.

Is there a certain name for it and can it be removed by any means?

Looks like liquid damage in the display.

These are known for laminate issues on those screens Big Time .
