Hi Guys,

Just wanted to understand when you hold the 10.5" iPad Pro and the 11" iPad Pro in Landscape Mode (Please see the attached Picture for your reference) If you hold it in Landscape Mode, the height of the Display in Landscape Mode if the Pixel dimensions of the 10.5 inch screen iPad Pro is

  • 2224-by-1668 resolution at 264 pixels per inch (ppi)

and Pixel dimensions of the 11 inch screen iPad Pro is.

  • 2388-by-1668-pixel resolution at 264 pixels per inch (ppi)
1668 Pixel being the Shorter Pixel Dimension for both the devices which is the same for both the devices, does this mean that both the devices in Landscape Mode in height have the same Display Height ?

Quite a few people have been talking about this elsewhere.

So is it the same in display height wise in landscape mode ?

Yes, identical. As others have seen though, in some apps you may currently see more content on the 10.5 device because the app hasn't been optimised for the new 11" screen so may have some black borders instead of utilising the full screen. his should only be a temporary issue though.

I was a little worried that lets say if I am web surfing does the 11" show less content because the 11" looks shorter in height wise compared to the 10.5" in Landscape Orientation !! So it is the same yeah 16 CMS ?

Yes, the screen is physically the same height in landscape. If an app uses the full size screen at the same scaling then you will get the exact same content on screen. If you have access to an Apple store then it may be worth going along to compare certain web sites. I sold my 10.5 otherwise I could have provided some comparison shots.

As far as I have done my research they both are 16 CMS in height in Landscape Orientation !!

This is some of the research I did before returning my 11” for the 10.5”. Overall you don’t lose a lot of screen real estate (164 horizontal pixels). Also, the 10.5” has the more normal aspect ratio of every prior iPad; where the 11” has a new unusual aspect ratio. In practice this means all my apps look completely “right” on the 10.5, but many need updates and look wrong currently on the 11”.

Conversely full screen video looks better on the 11” as it’s new aspect ratio is closer to 16:9.

But as far as my question fire, the height of the display of both the iPads Pro's 10.5" and 11" in landscape mode is the same isn't it ? Since you did your research asking ?

The height of both screens in landscape mode are identical. The bezels are different sizes which skew images. I’ve seen the 11” in person and own a 10.5”.

Both displays have a PPI of 264 and the pixels are the same size, meaning that the display height is unchanged,

And yes the other day I just Carried measuring tape lol ! And both the display, the inside part of the visible display from where the bezel from the top starts and the bottom when held in landscape mode both the devices 10.5" and 11" both measure 6.4 inch i.e. 16 CMS !
