Sometimes my XR goes asleep and is hard to wake up. Like just today it did it for the second time since I bought it. The screen did not turn on after I pinged it from my watch, and I had to power the unit off and on to get the screen to go back on. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Since it does not behave like this everyday Apple will have a hard time diagnosing the problem.

try turning off Background App Refresh for everything but the essentials (just a wild guess).

Every now and then my phone will have a hard time waking up. I would guess it happens once every few months?

For example, I'll hit all the buttons and nothing happens. Then 5-10 seconds later it wakes up like "What?" --- but because it only happens so rarely, I've let it go.

Is this your experience?

Yes

Heh, yeah my Xs Max has done this since day 1. Bothers me a little but because it only happens once every other month or so, I've let it go.

Glad to see I'm not the only one this happens to (although, I don't like it or think it should happen).

It isn't getting worse -- and hasn't disrupted normal operation of the phone so I've just ignored it.

Mine has done it more often than that since I have only owned the phone for 3-4 weeks. Still it’s rare and hard to diagnose and fix.
